Adam Ørvad has established himself internationally as a soloist and a chamber musician and performs in countles connections - is attached to a wide array of ensembles - among others musikFabrik | Ensemble für Neue Musik, Köln, Ensemble Modern, Frankfurt.
He was educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Music by James Crabb and Geir Draugsvoll. He made his soloist debut in the spring of 2005 to widespread critical acclaim with one of the most comprehensive programmes ever performed on the instrument.

Adam Ørvad has performed at music festivals such as Festival de Radio France et Montpellier, Le SALON de la musique à la Vilette - Paris, Internationale Ferienkurse für neue Musik Darmstadt, MusikTriennale Köln, Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, Ars Musica - Bruxelles, Easter Festival of Contemporary Chamber Music - Sofia, International Festival of Chamber Music - Plovdiv, Festival de de la Música Contemporánea de la Habana - Cuba, Vancouver Folk Musik Festival, Tempus Fugit - Buenos Aires, Suså Festival and many others.

Adam Ørvad's engagement in enlarging the repertoire of the concert accordion has resultet partly in a large number of innovative arrangements and transcriptions - partly in premieres of a large number of new works.

His artistic commitment spans over a wide array of genres: from baroque and classical to contemporary music, musical theatre - and then Adam Ørvad is a capacity on folk music fra the Balkans and the Middle East.

The double solalbum Wing Span (2012) with first recordings of Danish accordion works and works by Bach, Franck and Prokofiev was very well received by the international press.


Adam plays a Yupiter accordion with voices by A. Gavrilin, build in Moscow 2004.
